  Studying in Australia
How to get there

Getting to Australia is easy. QANTAS, the Australian national airline flies there regularly. Additionally, Singapore Airlines has flights to Singapore and then onto Sydney, Australia.

Accommodation

There are many options available to you for accommodation in Sydney. Basair is happy to help you make the necessary arrangements.

  1. Accommodation is available on Bankstown Airport. This accommodation is simple, cheap, and very close to Basair. Room only - no meals are provided. AUD$140 per week.
  2. A homestay with an Australian family. With this option you stay with a local family who provide housing, and most meals for you. Around AUD$250 per week.
  3. You may also like to arrange to rent a house with some other students. This is normally done once you get to Australia, and you stay in the airport accommodation (see number 1 above) until the house is arranged. Houses nearby generally rent for around AUD$320 per week - 3 bedrooms.
Things to do

When you get to Australia there will be many things you will want to see and do.

Sydney has more than 400 Indian food outlets, plus lots of markets for shopping. We also have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. There are also man, many places where you can play and watch cricket - Australians love their cricket almost as much as Indians!

There are plenty of opportunities during your course to see the countryside, as well as some of the unique animals in Australia. You will see Kangaroos, Emus and lots others, and visit such places as Dubbo, Broken Hill, Ayers Rock (Uluru), The Gold Coast, The Blue Mountains and the Great Barrier Reef.

There is lots to see and do in and around Sydney - the home of the 2000 Olympic Games! Click here for more information.
